The First Third [1971] - Neal Cassady

Neal Cassady’s influence on the Beat Generation ultimately came down to his frantic lifestyle and the "spontaneous prose" of his letter to Jack Kerouac and others in the circle. In addition to the "Joan Anderson Letter," Cassady attempted to write an autobiography, fragments of which were published by his widow, Carolyn, as The First Third.
