"Bumfights: A Cause For Concern" Video
How did bumfights.com become such a booming success? I envision college students all over the country taking bong hits and thrilling to the latest antics of Rufus the Stunt Bum as he crashes headfirst into a wall or a newspaper stand or a plate-glass window. Other highlights of the tape include a crackhead setting his head on fire and a derelict ripping out one of his front teeth with a pair of pliers. The most interesting scenes revolve around a parody of the Croc Hunter called the Bum Hunter. Complete with Australian accent and Steve Irwin-like verve, this guy actually hits the mean streets, hog-tying these hapless bums as they sleep and treating them as some sort of alien species. However, the best part of the video involves "supermodel" Angela Taylor and her fabulous breasts!
Believe it or not, this tape has sold more than 300,000 copies at $20 a pop. I am one of the "lucky" ones to have actually viewed this thing in its entirety (no I didn't have to pay for this opportunity). Let me tell you, the video is rather disturbing, occasionally fascinating and overall quite boring. For instance, be prepared to have your finger on the fast-forward button throughout most of the actual fighting between the bums. It gets old after about 3 minutes. The makers of the video once faced criminal charges for paying some of the bums to commit felony assaults on each other. In addition, two of the bums filed lawsuits against the owners of the website, claiming that they took advantage of their alcoholism. One of the bums, who actually has a "BUMFIGHT" tattoo on his forehead, was quoted as saying, "Who in their right minds is going to run their heads into a sign?"
