Truly depraved and ultimately fascinating, Bad Lieutenant features (arguably) Keitel's finest performance as a drug-addled cop searching for a couple of low-lifes who raped a nun. Talk about a loser, this guy even bets his life on Darryl Strawberry coming through for him in the World Series! Not for the squeamish! Keitel excels in this role, which was first offered to Christopher Walken. The script for Bad Lieutenant was cowritten by Zoe Lund, who starred in Ferrara's equally disturbing Ms. 45.
