Part of Spooky Empire's SCREAM FEST Horror Convention, the FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival was October 17-19, 2008, at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. The festival was for horror genre films ONLY and films competed for the FREAKY Award for outstanding achievement in horror filmmaking in the following categories: BEST FEATURE, BEST SHORT, BEST ACTOR/ACTRESS, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY, BEST FLORIDA HORROR FILM, BEST FX MAKEUP AND AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD. In addition, a special LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD was presented to a filmmaker who has made a significant impact on the horror film genre during his or her career.
