The 28th-annual Hemingway Days celebration took place in Key West, Florida, July 15-20, 2008. The schedule of events included the ever-popular Papa Hemingway Look-Alike Contest at Sloppy Joe's, three-day marlin tournament, "Running of the Bulls," authors' readings and presentations, book signings, an exhibition of rare Hemingway memorabilia, Lorian Hemingway Short Story Contest, Sloppy Joe's Arm Wrestling Competition and Caribbean Street Fair.

For the record, Tom Grizzard, 69, of Leesburg beat out 141 other contestants in the Papa Hemingway Look-A-Like Contest.

As for the entire Alternative Reel crew—Bill Chinaski, Jim Foley and Art Spackle— we spent about 10 minutes at Hemingway Days and two days drinking rum and cokes at the Schooner Wharf Bar and listening to our favorite Key West musician, Michael McCloud. I'm still hungover!
