I'm alone sitting with my empty glass, my four walls follow me through my past..." Hot babe rides subway train in this stylish music video that features a fast-paced synthesizer. She reminisces about a relationship that ended painfully. "I remember hating you for loving me...riding on the Metro."
I place Berlin right up there with Romeo Void as one of my all-time favorite California-based New Wave pop group of the '80s. Terri Nunn had as much edge as Blondie and she was better looking as well. "The Metro" appeared on the album Pleasure Victim, which The Rolling Stone Album Guide gave 1 1/2 stars. As much as I like some of Berlin's early hits, I have the opposite reaction to the group's biggest hit "Take My Breath Away" from the Top Gun soundtrack. Overblown, melodramatic and ultimately empty - just like the movie!
Just caught Berlin on that VH1 Bands Reunited show and Terri Nunn looks as hot as she did 20 years ago. Really! Check it out for yourself...
