Most women who sport mohawks can hardly be described as attractive (think Wendy O. Williams). However, Bow Wow Wow lead singer Annabella Lwin somehow pulled it off. The other band members were formerly with Adam and the Ants (before they kicked Adam out of the band and changed their identity). According to legend, Malcolm McClaren (the "genius" behind the Sex Pistols) discovered 14-year-old Annabella, a Burmese immigrant, in a London laundromat. The band proceeded to put out a couple of mediocre albums, including a 1981 release with one of the worst titles in music history: See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang Yeah, City All Over! Go Ape Crazy! A remake of the Strangeloves classic 1960s tune "I Want Candy" was included on Bow Wow Wow's following album, The Last of the Mohicans.

Bow Wow Wow managed to release a total of four albums before total burn out set in. It was all over for the group by 1983. Annabella embarked on an unsuccessful solo career. The group made a comeback in 1998, rehashing its tired material to bored and unresponsive audiences throughout the U.S. and Europe.
