Eclectic synthesized pop. The androgynous Annie Lennox's soulful voice. The innovative keyboard style of Dave Stewart. Somehow it all worked if only for a brief moment in the sun. The strange imagery evoked by this video reminded me somewhat of an overwrought student film influenced by Dali's Un Chien Andalou [1929].
As usual with dozens of these early MTV bands, the popularity waned, the band members split up to pursue solo careers and then reunited in the late '90s for a brief cash-in of their original 15 minutes of fame. "Hold your head up-Keep your head up-MOVIN' ON..."
