Falco 3

His mind was on rock and roll and having fun | Because he lived so fast he had to die so young | But he made his mark in history...

"He was the first punk ever to set foot on this earth | He was a genius from the day of his birth..." Mozart wannabe in rainbow-colored fright wig charges around town screaming incoherently about how Amadeus was the first punk rocker or something ridiculous to that effect. The freak takes a ride on a motorcycle. A bunch of bikers pump their fists in unison.

A classically trained musician, Falco (formerly Johann Holzel) somehow evolved into "Austria's king of techno-rap." He scored his first hit with "Der Komissar", which one-hit wonders After the Fire turned into a hit in 1983. In 1986, Falco hit No. 1 in the U.S. with his offbeat tribute to Mozart, who would have probably enjoyed the effort if he were anything like the character portrayed by Tom Hulce. Pure nonsense, you say? Yes, but entertaining as hell!

In 1998, Falco was killed while vacationing in the Dominican Republic after suffering head injuries when his sports utility vehicle smashed into a bus. He was just 40 years old.
