A dopey looking chick with multicolored hair sits amid squalor in a trailer watching an old movie. It turns out the flick in question is actually The Garden of Allah [1936] starring Marlene Dietrich and Charles Boyer (as if anyone really cares).
She's So Unusual sold more than five million copies throughout the world-churning out a total of four top five singles, including "Time After Time." "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," "She Bop" and "All Through the Night." How do you follow up such a phenomenal achievement? How about writing and singing the theme song for The Goonies starring Corey Feldman and Joe Pantoliano? And then appearing as a psychic in a dismal flick called Vibes (that was universally panned by critics, if you can imagine) that costarred Jeff Goldblum. As for "Time after Time"? A truly wonderful video from a fabulous singer. She is so under rated, has anyone ever really listened to the words on her "hat full of stars" album?? those words have gotten me through some very sad times in my life...
