Aerosmith - Dude (Looks Like A Lady) [1987]

Permanent Vacation

Backstage we're having the time | Of our lives until somebody say | Forgive me if I seem out of line | Then she whipped out her gun | Tried to blow me away...

"Aerosmith - Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" Video

Amateur Video

Part of Aerosmith's legendary comeback during 1986/87 that followed their collaboration with Run D.M.C. on Walk This Way, this song rocketed up the charts and the humorous video was featured constantly on MTV. Just who was this dude who looked like a chick? Apparently none other than Vince Neil of Motley Crue, according to legend. Apparently, Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler got the inspiration for "Dude" when he saw Neil in a bar surrounded by hotties and wondered how he could possibly score with any chick since he looked like a lady himself. However, "Dude" seems to poke fun at ALL those dopey "hair bands" from the '80s like Poison, Great White, Quiet Riot, Winger, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Dokken, Skid Row and Warrant, among others. "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)" reached No. 14 on the Billboard Charts. "Dude" would later appear on the soundtrack of Mrs. Doubtfire, a 1993 mediocre comedy that starred Robin Williams.
