George Burrell "Tim" Woodin
1934 - 2002
Born in Utica, New York, Tim Woodin received a degree in agricultural engineering at Cornell University and a degree in mechanical engineering at Michigan State University before embarking on his professional wrestling career at the age of 29. After Nebraska promoter Joe Dusek gave him the name, "Mr. Wrestling," Woods donned a white mask and his career skyrocketed as he became a fan favorite throughout the Florida, Georgia, Texas and Mid-Atlantic territories. During this time he was four-time NWA Florida Southern Heavyweight Champion, NWA Television Champion, NWA Georgia Tag Team Champion, two-time Florida Tag Team Champion, NWA Florida Television Champion, NWA Mid Atlantic Tag Team Champion, NWA Florida Heavyweight, NWA American Tag Team Champion and NWA United States Champion. Mr. Wrestling's final match in 1983 had him teamed up with Mr. Wrestling II against the Road Warriors. After his retirement from professional wrestling, Mr. Wrestling started a heating and air conditioning business. In 2002, he died of a heart attack at his Charlotte, North Carolina, home.

One of the "Best" Technical Wrestlers of his era. Also a very nice man. I used to be the ring second, at the Atlanta Municipal auditorium, and the sports arena. He was always kind and took time out to show me holds, explain moves and even gave me personal advice. I thought a lot of him as a man and professional.
