harley race is a great human being, with great respect for the fans,im 37 years old,and i remember when i was 9 or 10 my dad took me to see then world champion in des moines(im from southern iowa),it was my 1st live event, and one ill never forget!after the main event, harley stayed back to sign autographs and what not, when it was my turn,at no charge,i might add,i got to take a picture with harley, and he let me hold his nwa championship belt in the picture.a few years back,i seen that harley's wrestling promotion that he runs was making its way to southern iowa,so i took my son (4 yrs old) hoping he could have some of the same fond memories i had as a child,my son got to have his picture taken with harley and harley's good friend larry "the axe" henning, and to top it all off,the ax even held my son for the picture.in my opinion, harley race is as good of a human being as he was a champion!a truely great man in and out of the ring!

Harley's wife BJ passed away not too long ago - on behalf of wrestling fans everywhere, I send my heartfelt condolences to "The King" and his family. I never met Mr. Race or his wife, but every time you hear someone comment on them it's always something warm and apparently she was as loved as Harley - according to Mick Foley, her most famous quote was "Come on down and we'll go out on the boat!" Very rare when a wrestler or his family universally conjures up such heartfelt warm memories.
