"Captain Lou Albano" Video
Born in Mount Vernon, New York, Albano is primarily remembered as an outrageous, totally obnoxious, controversial and hilarious professional wrestling manager who was a key figure in the "Rock 'n' Wrestling" era that skyrocketed during the mid-1980s. Albano appeared in several music videos, including Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," "Time After Time" and "She Bop." Albano was known for his colorful Hawaiian shirts, wild facial hair and trademark rubber bands. Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996, Albano is the coauthor of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Pro-Wrestling.

The only era of wrestling I ever liked was during the Captain's.. Yelling at the TV with my grandfather when I was 6 or 7 is one of my best memories. Thank you Lou.. Rest in Peace.

We all were getting prepared for this day, but it is not easy to digest. Lou has been my friend since I came into the wrestling business in 1971. I made numerous road trips with Lou, Freddie, Arnold and the Wiz. Lou took me under his guidance for a good portion of my wrestling life. I will always have fond memories of my time spent with him. This will be a very hard one to get over. Rest in peace my friend, Freddie, Arnold, and Ernie are waiting to greet you.
