Should've had Virgin Killer by the Scorpions instead of Lovedrive.

Kim Karn - 2007-12-07 19:38:01
Bullshit! Virgin Killer IS the No.1 Most Controversial Album Cover of All Time, no contest. What's controversial about Lovedrive?

Chris - 2007-12-08 08:30:49
The Marilyn Manson and Rage Against the Machine are the most FUCKED UP ones I've seen! The Slayer one is also FUCKED UP! Marilyn messed up in his head.

Robert Lalange - 2007-12-11 17:43:20
Controversial in both good ways and bad ways, very different ways. I like the RATM cover, the story behind the picture is a controversy in itself!

What - 2008-01-02 22:46:13
Virgin Killer. I just looked it up after reading this. I am sure the cops are coming to my house soon. Number One, no doubt.

ern - 2008-01-22 15:19:04
Were there no laws against that kind of thing?

Nikko - 2008-01-22 17:27:18
You got to be American to think this is controversial??

Anonymous - 2008-01-23 00:18:30
I don't get how people get so uppety about this stuff..

Kris - 2008-01-23 08:55:32
All these band members are going to hell. Wait a minute.... so am I! I get to hang out with Michael Schenker and Marilyn Manson! Seriously, the most controversial covers are the most interesting because they say something about the times. Sometimes the truth hurts.... and sometimes it's just plain fun to piss people off!

s.r da rugged man - 2008-01-23 09:51:29
there's this band called the shitcocks, they have a picture off an old man spreading his ass cheeks on the cover of the album "poop in my soup". beat that!!!!

B - 2008-01-23 10:02:36
hahaha these are just album covers calm the F down will ya?

Whargoul - 2008-01-23 13:24:01
Well I don't think most of those are very controversial, I mean what about The Exploited - Jesus is dead, or SNFU - and no one else wanted to play. I think that this was so very hastily put together, if they had bothered to do a little research I'm sure you'd find much more controversial album covers then what is here.

The One - 2008-01-24 09:47:03
What´s about Chumbawamba - Anarchy?!?

keyboard typer - 2008-01-24 12:17:42
The bootleg album "Dawn of the Black Hearts" by Mayhem should be on here since the album cover is the pic of the singer after he committed suicide. There was also a band in the 70s whose album cover contained a redheaded girl who was topless holding a model airplane or something. The girl, I believe, was underage when the pic was taken. (I don't remember the band name but my parents have the album) I don't see any of the albums on this list as controversial. If the writer has done some research they would have found the 2 I mentioned or any other number of albums that would qualify.

NU - 2008-02-02 11:07:57
The album with the girl holding the model airplane was Blind Faith's self titled album I believe.

metalhead - 2008-02-02 18:15:09
Hey Keyboard Typer. The album you are thinking of is Virgin Killer by the Scorpions. Haven't you heard of fucking Wikipedia?

ebsneko - 2008-02-02 22:58:47
you need to remember, when the albums came out, at that time they were very contriversial, maybe not so much now, but at the time they were.

Milo Blankenstern - 2008-02-02 23:59:52
The underaged(?) red-headed girl cover belonged to Blind Faith.

Aaron - 2008-02-03 04:42:15
everyone should look at some cannibal corpse album covers... these have to be by far the most disturbing pieces of album art i have ever seen

Jk - 2008-02-03 16:47:06
Yeah..., I really don't get these, what's so controversial about these? Sure, no one want's to see Yoko Ono's bush, but why is the Beatles album nro. 1?! Virgin Killer should definetly be here. And Mayhem's "Dawn of the Black Hearts" should be #1, allthough it's a bootleg, the cover is a real picture of the singer after he killed himself with a knife and a shotgun. I'd say it's a bit more controversial than 4 adults playing with dolls.

You could add the Led Zeppelin album Houses of the Holy : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houses_of_the_Holy

Julie - 2008-02-06 12:08:25
Hey Metalhead, you need to take your Vallium. Obviously keyboard typer couldn't search through Wiki if he had no clue as to the band name. Wow, if this gets you all stirred up (and it sounds like it did), I would hate to be ahead of you in traffic!!!

milosimpatica - 2008-02-06 23:42:20
There's a mexican band called Brujeria. I don't know in which of its albums there's a human head being held by a hand. The head is burnt. I think it's their first one.

Tyler Durden - 2008-02-12 11:04:31
You missed "Mom's Apple Pie". A pie with a slice out of it and labia in the center should make the Top 10.

oldenoughtoknow - 2008-02-15 21:48:45
Hey metalhead NU is right. The cover with the girl and the model airplane is Blind Faith's self-titled debut.

Sam - 2008-04-16 20:01:12
Honestly, though, for those who say Virgin Killer should be at no. 1, you don't know the history behind The Beatles butcher cover. It was the 60's people! The reaction to the cover was immediate, and record was recalled within days. The alternate cover was printed within weeks of the release, and the older copies had the new cover pasted over the top. I don't think Virgin Killer resulted in that.

freak no. 1 - 2008-04-17 19:49:07
anything by g.g. allin, we miss you g.g.!

OnjiTheCat - 2008-06-09 12:36:27
Most of the listed Album Covers are quite interesting such as the beatles one, thats creepy but interesting non the less, and Amorica by the Black Crows is just funny! However in my opinon The Slayer album is just a cheap and pathetic jab at religion which anyone could do.

simon - 2008-07-29 08:32:39
pffft. aaron said it, the cannibal corpse covers make all the above mediocre by comparison.

Doc - 2008-10-09 01:27:51

Yeah, the Scorpions "Virgin Killer" is by far the most controversial, with that little 10-year-old pussy doing full frontal, it has been censored and outright banned all over the world -- probably because it gave too many politicians and priests a raging hardon.

Julz - 2008-11-01 08:06:04

Well Marilyn Manson probably ain't as messed up as people think. I've seen interviews and he seems like a pretty nice guy. He just goes for that whole Stanic look in his music and appearance because some people will like it. And the Rage Against the Machine one isn't that bad. They simply took a picture from a historical moment in history and used it as an album cover. I personally think it is one of the greatest album covers of all time. And Nevermind by Nirvana should have been in there :)

um.....lol - 2009-01-03 23:11:59

LMAO!!! um go to google images and type " Dawn of the black hearts" thats the most controversial album cover of all time lol

^w^ - 2009-01-17 21:37:07

needs more Dawn of the Black Hearts-Mayhem [even though its technically a bootleg ;[ ] also cannibal corpse covers are neat <:]

Jim - 2009-03-21 18:29:42

Hmm you'd think that Cannibal Corpses' "Butchered At Birth" would be on there... I mean the ORIGINAL album cover for it. It's one of the most controversial album covers i've ever seen. It got banned in a lot of places. Enough places, in fact, that they had to make new album art for it.

Xanadu Xero - 2009-03-22 12:05:29

I was a kid when I first saw the naked John & Yoko cover - there were like fifty in a window. I HAD NO IDEA that penii came uncircumsized. I freaked out when I saw John's. I wondered why it looked like an elephant trunk.

xanderthevampire - 2009-04-13 16:17:46

I cant believe you missed out the original(banned) cover for W.A.S.P s f*** like a beast album!!!

Carlllllllllllll - 2009-05-08 09:06:36

You need to look at the album called Dawn Of The Black Hearts by Mayhem the picture is of one of the members after he'd slit his wrists and shot himself in the head pretty cool haha
